An 11-year-old cancer patient named Elijah was able to fulfill a dying wish of connecting with his favorite artists before his passing this week. Drake, J. Cole & The Weeknd all reached out to shower Elijah, who’s been battling cancer for the past 3 years, with love and support.
Elijah’s cousin, Michael Watson II, shared some heartwarming videos of the young man’s phone calls with artists like J.Cole & The Weeknd.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you man, I love you, bro,” says J. Cole. And The Weeknd also shows love saying,” I’m so honored to be one of your favorite artists. I love you, buddy.”
In his caption, Watson adds, “In a time where there seems like so much is out of our control, one thing that we all have the power to give + show others, is LOVE,” and urges people to keep those they love close.
Elijah’s mother also took to Instagram to express her gratitude, sharing a photo of the FaceTime call with Drake and her gut-wrenching goodbye with her first-born child.
