Music is a vital element of Black culture that dates all the way back to the beginning of times. There is a lineage of black music that can be traced back to over 50 genres which goes to show just how much depth can be found within the untold stories of black music. It is used to express our joy, our pain, our sadness and just our life and it’s refreshing to see so many artists take back the industry by dishing out music that reflects their true and authentic selves.

The band takes the stage first as Anderson .Paak rises from the center of the stage on his drum set. As the crowd gets pumped, Anderson .Paak joins the crowd to dance through the entire mid-section of the amphitheater with his fans. Overall, the visual and creative production of the performance made for a great night out in Atlanta.
Lion Babe brings an effervescent performance to The Loft on a stormy Tuesday evening. Everything from the wardrobe to the stage design was an 80s-electric color pallet. This R&B duo from New York city consists of singer Jillian Harvey and record producer Lucas Goodman. They brought an electric take on Neo-Soul to the A and are a sight to see if you’re not only looking to experience something that melodically pleasing, but in the visual sense as well.
