Swiping For Love: Can A Dating App Really Help You Find Love?

If you’re a super successful sister who is at the top 10% of female income earners, and you are STILL single, you’ve probably tried swiping for love.

Does this sound familiar? Swipe right if…

He looks good on paper but he’s not mentally stimulating in real life. FRUSTRATING!

Swipe left. Swipe right.

He disappears after a few flirty conversations, but you can see he’s still online. CONFUSING!

Swipe left. Swipe left. Swipe left.

He reappears and sends a flurry of “good morning beautiful” texts but never asks you out. IRRITATING!

And after a few swipes, lackluster dates, or flaky guys who ghost you, you’ve also probably wanted to delete your Tinder app (feel free to insert Bumble, Black People Meet,… which ever app you’re spending too much time on with low-level results)

If so, you’re not alone. But the problem isn’t the app. The problem is you’re swiping without a strategy and it is costing you your life!

As one of the top dating experts for women of power, I’ve invented strategies to help them successful meet their match online. And here’s what I know for sure: You can’t just put up a profile and hope for the best. You have to have a plan and strategically position yourself as the one-of-a-kind woman your Mr. Right can’t resist!

Use these 4 tips to makeover your online dating experience:

1. Use Pretty, Poppin’ Photos

Studies show you have about 3 seconds to catch the attention of the right person who is scanning through all the profiles online. You don’t want to be just another car selfie if you’re going to attract quality men. You need a photo showing you in the best light–literally! Use an app like FaceTune to take a gorgeous selfie and invest in a professional personality photoshoot. You’ll come across like a high caliber woman and you’ll attract men who appreciate the time you put into creating an amazing profile.

2. Shoot Your Shot

Now I know you’re old-school and you’d rather have a man show you that he’s interested by sending you a message declaring his intentions to date you exclusively first, but it doesn’t work that way online. (In fact, if you could see my face, I’m giving you a major side eye!)

The way many quality men set up their profiles and the way algorithms work, you might not be showing up in his daily matches! If you’re not seen, you’re not considered. Send him a quick flirty compliment. It’s like throwing him a Tyra Banks “smize” if you saw him at Whole Foods. You’re inviting him to pursue!

3. Swipe-Screen-Sort

You need to screen each man before you agree to go out with him. Start by looking at his profile. See if you’re aligned in relationship goals and energy! If you screen guys correctly, you’ll have fewer bad experiences and you won’t get so exhausted by online dating.

4. Focus on Attracting The Right Man

If the first line of your profile screams, “I’M NOT HERE FOR A HOOKUP!” you’re probably sick and tired of the wrong men landing in your inbox. But your headline warning the wrong guys to step off is going to have the opposite effect on the good guys who want something more than Netflix & Chill. In fact, I spoke with Joseph Dixon, creator and CEO of Real Black Love, the #1 dating app for relationship minded black singles and he said when he’s swiping for love, a woman who focuses on what she doesn’t want in her profile makes him run for the digital hills. “All I can think is, ATTITUDE,” he said.

Protect your energy by creating an inviting profile for the right man and delete the ones who don’t make the cut.

If you do it right, online dating can be a powerful way to expand your dating pool. You have control over who you talk to at your fingertips. And you keep your bonnet on while you swipe to meet men.

The key is to have a methodology that keeps you out of the cycles of frustration of swiping your life away. That’s why I want to support you in our latest Single For The Holidays Facebook Live Chat.
