As if we don’t have enough to deal with, a white woman falsely claimed that a Black man “threatened her life” over a dog in Central Park.
Another viral video surfaced and this time, Amy Cooper gets into it in New York’s Central Park this past weekend. Christian Cooper, who was in the park bird-watching, simply asked if she could place her dog on a leash.
Amy Cooper refused and the man began to film the verbal confrontation that stemmed from his request. The clip shows her walk toward the man while she chokes her dog in the process.
“Sir, I’m asking you to stop recording me,” says Cooper before she continues with threats to call the police, “I’m going to tell them there’s an African-American man threatening my life.”
Christian Cooper responded with, “please tell them whatever you like.”
CNN reports that Amy Cooper has since lost her job and dog since the incident took place. The Central Park Civic Association has also called for her to be banned from the park.
