Russell Wilson honored his late father in a social media post on the 10th anniversary of his death.
It’s no wonder that the NFL superstar is a natural at football, his father, Harrison Wilson III, was an athlete himself. He was a former football and baseball player at Dartmouth and even tried out to be a wide receiver for the San Diego Chargers in 1980.
He must be smiling down on his talented son.
Wilson shared these heartfelt words:
“Dad, I miss you every day. You were and still are one of my greatest inspirations. You helped instill Perspective, Vision & Belief in me. 3 things necessary for not only success but overcoming. Jesus blessed me with an amazing Dad in you and I will forever cherish my time with you.”
The two of them sport a similar grin in the photo Wilson posted at, what looks like, an old football game.
“If I could have one wish in the world, it would simply be to be able to go on a ride with you again and jam out to Earth, Wind, & Fire “Devotion.” Love you! See you again one day.”
Wilson’s father passed away from complications with diabetes at age 55. We send all the love and light to the Wilson family as they continue to mourn the loss of his dad.
