The proof is in the pudding- Black culture has always been a unifying force.
Last night one of the biggest parties took place thanks to Bronx native, DJ D-Nice and folks didn’t have to leave their homes to participate. There were no lines, squeezing into uncomfortable high heels or trying to make it in time to avoid a cover – instead, you could join the hottest party from the tap of your phone.
That’s right, D-Nice got on the ones and twos and brought #ClubQuarantine to us straight from the comfort of our own homes. It was the place to be, even former first lady Michelle Obama dropped by to get her groove on.
If you’ve ever wanted to party with some of the biggest names in the world, this IG live was the place to be with names like Gabrielle Union, Missy Elliott, Joe Biden, and even auntie Oprah popping in as D-Nice spun all of our favorite hip-hop and R&B jams for about 10 hours with over 100,000 users in attendance for the virtual dance party of the century.
This is how our parties used to be and it feel so good since its been heavy these past few weeks! We partying together in our own homes @djdnice here is your flowers?????
“I never would’ve imagined that the best party I would create and DJ would be from the comfort of my own home,” D-Nice penned in an IG post. We couldn’t have imagined it either! During a time where half the world is freaking out thanks to the coronavirus outbreak, D-Nice had us forgetting it all dancing in our living rooms with the people we love the most.
D-Nice, who got his start during the golden era of rap in the 1980s, is a reminder of what it’s like to walk in your purpose and use your calling to impact the masses. He will forever go down in history for helping us get through social distancing touching us through music.
We’re in here now picking out what we’ll wear to #ClubQuarantine tonight as D-Nice will continue spinning. If you didn’t make it last night, check out what you missed and head over to D-Nice’s IG at 6 pm ET (3 pm PT) to be first in line.
