Not all relationships have to end with bad blood.
Nick Cannon spoke nothing but good things about his ex-wife Mariah Carey.
The two tied the knot in 2008 just weeks after dating and although their marriage ended in 2016, the former couple remain on good terms.
They are co-parent goals as they raise 9-year-old Monroe and Morrocan. From birthday trips to Disney World to holiday family celebrations, Nick and Mariah show how something good can come out of a relationship that no longer serves them both.
“It was more that whimsical fantasy idea of let’s have as much fun as we possibly can and when it no longer feels like fun, when it feels like a task and a job, then we should amicably be able to move on.
Nick opened up about Mariah’s infamous diva reputation, it was a “healthy balance” for him in their relationship.
“I always used to say it worked so well because it was a healthy balance,” he said, “I had no problem falling back. It was never a competition with me. It was like, ‘I’ll turn mine off so she can turn hers on.’ I was comfortable in myself and who I was.
He confessed you never catch the two of them in a fight. He can’t remember there ever being any negative energy between them.
“We had very sensible conversations,” Nick said, adding, “I mean, its Mariah Carey. How am I supposed to be? She’s one of the most talented women to ever walk this planet. I can’t hold a candle to that woman.”
