D.C. Mayor Muriel E. Bowser has formally renamed a street outside the White House “Black Lives Matter Plaza” and she authorized city crews to paint the message in gigantic yellow letters down 16th street.

This message comes in the wake of protests throughout the U.S. and beyond, where demonstrators demand justice for George Floyd and many others who have been killed by the police time and time again.
“Black Lives Matter Plz NW” now sits on 16th Street Northwest right in front of the historic St. John’s Episcopal Church, where President Trump staged a, now controversial, photo op days earlier.
Washington D.C. is not only the nation’s capital but it was coined the “Chocolate City” because it was once one of the few predominately Black cities in the country.
Do you think this is a step toward justice in the fight for Black lives amongst this nation?

Civil Protest and street renaming is fine but until we start supporting our own businesses and hit the economy where it hurts financially they won’t do a damn thing. It’ll keep happening. Boycotting and supporting black owned businesses moving forward then that sends a message. Our black dollars stands for power as much as the black power fist! Take a stand!
